This baby sleeps a lot! I think it is so cute when babies suck their thumbs. All of mine have sucked their thumbs here and there but no actual thumb suckers so I need to get pictures of the act when I can.

Joshua coo’s now and he tries to roll over. He gets to his side and tries to move further. Today, I was peed on for the first time. Something to expect when you have a boy, I guess. JJ was peed on just minutes after Joshua was born.

Joshua doesn’t get put down very often. I hold him most of the day, he is such a snuggly baby, I love it! All 3 girls fight over him – sometimes he doesn’t like that.

Miriam is saying “shhh… Josh…ok…shhh Josh”

Joshua has already accomplished some firsts in his short 10 day life (outside the womb).

He has traveled in his car seat. He really does not like being in it.

Don’t worry, we did cover his face from the sun during the car ride.

Joshua’s umbilical cord came off when he was 5 days old so that meant time for his first bath! Which he also really did not like. Sorry, Joshy maybe if I just stayed in the birthing tub for another half hour you would have been born in the water and loved your first bath like Miriam did.

When his umbilical cord came off we also began using cloth diapers for him. You can use cloth before the cord falls off but I just find it too awkward and also babies are so floppy their first few days, it’s just easier to wait several days.

Another first for Joshua was his first visit to the doctors. He got his PKU test and as of the visit yesterday he weighed 6 lbs 13 oz so he’s right about back to his birth weight of 6 lbs 14 oz. He cried so much louder and longer than any of the other babies during the heel prick.

He did become jaundiced when he was 2 days old but later on that night my milk came in so with lots of feedings, some sun light and many, many dirty diapers the jaundice was completely gone 3 days later.

Now this was something he enjoyed! He looked so relaxed laying by the window sucking his tumb.

I’ve got my camera and extra canon batteries out of reach from children, ready to take many more pictures of our children for all of our family to see.

Yes! We are expecting our fourth baby at the end of the year. The due date is December 29th so it could be either a 2011 baby or a 2012 baby.

We are all very excited about our new addition, even Miriam seems to know that she is expecting a little sibling as she often kisses my belly.

I would love another girl or a boy it really doesn’t matter to me. I know JJ would really love to have a son but whether he realizes it or not, he’s the perfect dad for little girls. He loves to turn on classical music and waltz with our girls.

We will probably schedule an ultrasound for the beginning of August and find out if we are having another princess or if we actually get to raise a little boy among all these girls. More importantly make sure all looks well to go ahead with another home birth!

Medela is giving away a Breast milk Labeling and Storage System. Perfect for all the pregnant and nursing moms who read this blog.

I received one of these courtesy of Medela and it is a great way to organize my milk for Miriam. Before I was just putting the milk into little Rubbermaid containers and placing those in the freezer. Of course with taking other foods in and out of the freezer, the little containers get moved around and then I had no idea which container was the oldest or newest.

The Medela Breast Milk Labeling & Storage system make organizing a lot easier.

The system comes with a tray, two storage bottles and two labeling lids. As you can see the tray has arrows so you can see the direction where the bottles are going and easily tell which is next in line for a bottle or cup feeding. You can use either use the bottles or the breastmilk bags in the tray.

This system is great whether you are a working mom who will be using this everyday or if you just need a bottle for the occasional babysitter or a feeding by dad so you can get some extra rest.

Buy It

Look for the Medela Breastmilk Labeling & Storage System at any of these locations.
Miriam Elisabeth was born at home on June 2nd at 12:51 am. She weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and 19 inches long.

All of us have instantly fallen in love with this beautiful baby girl. I feel so blessed to have 3 little girls, they are so much more precious than owning a million loose diamonds would ever be.

The home birth was wonderful experience. I’ll try and blog about that tomorrow. I am doing very well just trying to not over do anything so I can fully recover quickly.
