I love surprises so I was excited to check the mail on Wednesday and find a package for me from Izea! I opened up the bright green box to find a bunch of 4th Of July goodies. JJ immediately claimed the paper planes and my daughters quickly wanted to play with the frisbee and finger puppets.
Friday did not start out so well though, Sariah broke my glasses!!! JJ taped them up for me so luckily they are still wearable.
Later on in the morning we watched the Freedom Festival fireside where Glenn Beck was the featured speaker. I really enjoyed his speech.
My brother-in-law, Stephen and his wife Kristina came over and we went to a park that had some events going on. Sariah made a shaker and both girls got their nails painted red, white and blue. JJ and Stephen then went rock climbing on a climbing wall that was set up. Watch the video!
While in White Rock, BC my husband ate crab for the first time and had no idea how to eat it and ended up tearing it to pieces and eating it with his hands, it was quite disgusting to look at! I actually didn’t care though, as I am not the neatest eater either.

One thing I would love for 2008 is to get a real bed, for the 3 years that I have been married we have been sleeping on mattresses that we bought from thrift stores. Bedinabox.com sells memory foam mattress which some say are better than tempurpedic mattresses for as low as $329. That is just a fraction of what a tempurpedic would cost!
I hope you enjoy the video I put together about Bedinabox.com’s Memory Foam Mattresses. It is the very first video I have made.
In exactly 2 weeks Christmas will be here, so I thought it was time for another one of my favourite Chrismas videos. “O Holy Night” is one of my favourite Christmas carols and Josh Groban is one of my favourite singers to listen to. So here is Josh Groban singing “O Holy Night”:
When my husband came home from school last night he asked if I watched Romney’s speech he gave on religion, I said I never heard about it. He said that there was a big buzz about it at school so we searched around online looking for it but never did. I found it this morning on you tube. Here it is:
This is another one of my Christmas favourites. There is something special about childrens voices and these children sing so beautifully and the orchestra is wonderful as well. Enjoy the video!
One of my favourite things about Christmastime is Christmas music! Last year my husband and I had fun looking up Christmas music videos on you tube, this year I would like to share some of my favourites. One of my favourite Christmas songs is “Mary Did You Know” because it focuses on all of Christ’s life. I looked through several videos and this one is my favourite:
Food and health organizations all over the world encourage us to get at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables each day. It often seems that fresh fruits and vegetables are expensive but really one pound of apples is often cheaper than a pound of candy. Look around for sales and buy in season. With summer coming we will soon see a decrease in the cost of yummy fruits such as peaches, melons and berries!
Lets not forget about the farmers that help bring these foods to us. Here is a neat little video honouring Florida farmers - I love florida oranges!
There were a lot of angry hockey fans in Vancouver last night as the Canucks lost to the Ducks and are now out of the playoffs.
Vancouver is known for being very passionate about hockey and it was probably a good thing that this game was played in Anaheim. In 1994 when Vancouver lost game 7 of the Stanley cup finals in Vancouver there was a huge riot with fights, people breaking windows, destroying city property and looting. Over 500 police officers were needed to control the riot, pepper spray and rubber bullets were used. A lot of people were arrested and even years later they were still looking for suspects that were caught on video.
Where I’m from in British Columbia there are several Bollywood Cinema’s. I went there a few times and I really enjoyed the movies I saw. These movies have lots of music and all the ones I’ve seen are very clean, family orriented movies. My husband liked the Hindi music stations on the radio in BC.
