Time For Me To Take Auto 101

I think it is time for me to take some lessons on the basics of taking care of a car. All I know how to do right now is drive a car and fill it up with gas.

Last night was a lesson to me that I need to learn more. The car’s engine heat monitor thing (I don’t even know what it is called!) kept going over the medium line thing earlier yesterday so JJ was going to put coolant in the car only to find out that we didn’t have any. So he suggested I go to Walmart to buy some as I needed to buy a few other things as well there. Well on my way there I felt a strong impression to pull over, so I did and when I got out of the car I noticed that there was a little smoke coming out of the hood. So I thought I would lift the hood up to let it cool off and I couldn’t even figure out how to do that!

Miriam was crying so I took her out and I really thought that someone would stop to help me if they saw some lady trying to open a car hood holding a baby but no one did. I was worried to leave the car because I didn’t want it to get towed. Finally I walked over to a gas station to buy coolant (thankfully I knew what kind to buy). Then back to the car.

It wasn’t a clean cut guy that I thought would be the typical person to help someone out in this type of situation, they were guys with long hair and tank tops. They were very nice and put coolant in the car for me. They had trouble opening up the hood as well – so I didn’t feel bad about that!

It reminded me of a time soon after JJ and I were married and we stopped to help these girls who were having car trouble. They said that they had been there for a long time and no one else had stopped to help. I actually ran into one of the girls a couple years later and she talked about how grateful she was that my husband stopped to help her. I think that testosterone cream that works for real would be something that makes men into gentlemen. It seems like that is becoming lost in our society. Maybe they’re afraid to make women feel inferior? I don’t know, but I think most women appreciate men holding doors open and at least asking if help is needed.

Anyways I think it is important that I at least learn to do something as simple as put coolant in a car – next I guess I should learn to change a tire – I don’t want to realize that the hard way!

Some people stereotype …they think a “nicely” dressed person is a better person than a person dressed “not” so nice…

Do not judge a person by the way they dress.

Just like do not judge a book by its cover so to speak!!!
