Miriam’s Birth Story Part 1

On Tuesday morning (my due date) my midwife came over for a prenatal visit. My midwife said that the baby was in a perfect position for delivery which was reassuring.
At 6:30 that evening I noticed that I had 3 contractions 15 minutes apart and wondered if it may be the real thing. Sariah wanted pancakes and eggs for dinner so I started on that and I tried calling JJ to see when he would be home but no one at the lab answered. The contractions were then coming every 10 minutes so I called my midwife to just let her know that it might be the real thing.
At 7:30 Sariah asked to watch “Pocahontas Princess movie” so I sat down at the computer to find it on youtube. I got off the chair and right then my water broke! I was so surprised because with Sariah and Bekah my water never did brake on its own. I changed my clothes then my water broke again. So I changed again and then I noticed that every time the baby moved more water gushed out. Its not like one big gush when the doctor or midwife breaks it when you’re ready to push. I realized that I didn’t need to be acting like I needed to go all out like I was looking for equestrian apparel for a race. I just settled for a shirt and towel.
I called JJ’s lab again and he picked up. I told him that my water broke so he said he would leave and come home. I called the midwife and she said to call her when my contractions became closer than 10 minutes.
I laid down in bed to try and get some rest. Sariah and Rebekah went a little crazy jumping all over me and wanting attention. I was happy when JJ got home and I told him to put Sariah and Bekah to bed.
My midwife called me back around 9pm to ask if my contractions have gotten closer. They hadn’t but they were getting really intense. So she said she was picking up another midwife and heading over to my house.
I’ll try to finish the story tonight …. Sariah and Bekah are needing attention
