38 Weeks Pregnant

I am now preparing for the daily “have you had the baby yet?” and “How much longer until your due date?”. Sariah and Rebekah were both born during the 40th week so I’m not expecting anything to happen before then – I wouldn’t mind of course!

I was thinking this morning how at 9:00 pm on March 18th, 2006 and 9:00 pm on July 18th, 2007 I went into labour. Of course by writing that nothing is going to be happening at 9:00 pm tonight but it is an interesting coincidence for the first 2 pregnancies.

My midwife came over this morning for a prenatal check up – I am measuring at exactly 38 weeks! She also brought a birthing tub over. I am still unsure if I will use it but it’s a nice option for when I am in labour.

The baby feels so low that sometimes it is so hard to walk. I felt like a penguin last night!  It is also hard to sit for more than 5 minutes at a time. Sitting through church last Sunday was especially tough.

I have been busy cleaning and feeling like I need to get everything perfect for the baby. JJ says that I need to accept the house the way it is. Maybe I should relax and think about holding our new baby girl and making the birth announcements to friends and family. Which reminds me that I need to put the family members numbers we don’t have memorized on our speed dial.

I also need to buy a few more things for the home birth like drop cloths, hydrogen peroxide and we should probably get a few more towels as well. Now I’m feeling overwhelmed again … ha ha…
