36 Weeks Pregnant
May

I am now 9 months pregnant – this has gone by way too fast! But with the pain and uncomfortableness starting two weeks ago my last month of pregnancy will probably feel like the longest part of my pregnancy. Yet I feel like I still have so much to do before the baby is born.
I have my next midwife appointment this Saturday. I am excited to hear the baby’s heartbeat again and be reassured that everything is going well, however I will be having my iron tested again which I am not looking forward to. I can handle giving birth without an epidural but I feel sick getting my finger pricked
At least I don’t have to worry about about “invasive” medical testing. Most midwives do not check for dilation unless you ask them to and many even have you do the GBS test yourself – I don’t even understand why a doctor needs to do this instead of a letting the patient go into the bathroom and do it herself. Another plus to having a midwife, at least mine is that they don’t hover over the scales to check your weight. I just step on the scale, tell the midwife my weight and she just writes it down on my chart.
