I am 14 weeks pregnant today – officially in the second trimester. I find it exciting to know that my baby has a face, fingers, toes and is pretty much a miniature version of the baby I will hold in my arms in about 6 months. I just don’t know how some people don’t think of an unborn baby as a human being. The baby is about 3.5 inches and 1.5 ounces now.
I have decided on a midwife to do all my prenatal care, home birth and postpartum care. Her name is Melody Pendelton and she has had 7 of her 12 children at home so I like the fact that she has a lot of personal experience and out of all the midwives I interviewed she has been delivering babies for the longest. I have my first appointment on Friday!

I’m interested to see how it goes with you using a midwife. I have never known anyone who has had a home birth before.

I’m excitied to hold the baby as well!
I was reading an article today that said that more people are against testing animals that people who are against testing aborted fetuses for research. I found that really sad.
