Making Tutu’s For My Daughters

Photobucket I have a habit of starting new sewing projects before finishing the previous project. I have my quilt to finish and mending the promotional tote bags I use to bag my groceries. But I have decided to put those projects on hold to make Tutu’s for my daughters for Christmas. It was $5 for all the materials so a lot cheaper than buying store bought tutu’s and of course made with love. I know that they are just going to love their “princess skirts”.

I am using broadcloth for the first layer and tulle for the 2nd and 3rd layers so the skirt won’t be scratchy for them. The finished product will be more like a long fairy skirt than a ballet tutu.

While measuring Sariah and Bekah I learned that their waists are the exact same size. No wonder every where I go people ask if they are twins they really are just about the same size!
