We Get Channels Now

Since JJ and I got married we lived in a couple of apartments that came with cable and I decided that I would much rather live without cable.
A few months ago we got a coupon in the mail for $40 off a converter box which made it $9 to buy one. We had the coupon lying around for a couple months and then we decided that we would rather watch General Conference on TV instead of the computer so we went ahead and a bought a converter box and antenna.
We get good reception and and about 15 channels. The great thing is that we have only watched tv twice since conference weekend. I was worried that we would start watching too much TV but I guess we are too busy for to watch much so that is good. And I don’t let Sariah and Bekah watch anything until after they take a nap. There are no appropriate shows for them at that time so they watch a library movie and some days they forget about their movie because we are busy doing other things in the evening but the movie is so nice for when I’m cooking dinner!
Another reason for our lack of TV watching could be that there is no room in our living room for tv stands so the TV is in mine and JJ’s bedroom, away from a ‘public’ area.
Now I just need to cut down on my internet time!

We have a converter box as well. I don’t like having cable and all the junk that is on tv, but it is nice to have the few channels and be able to watch the news every now and then. Ryker loves to watch pbskids sometimes in the mornings as well which I don’t mind because most of the cartoons are very educational.

There are some good educational shows for kids. I would let Sariah watch them in the morning if she would take a nap in the afternoon but it seems that the only way to get her to nap is to bribe her with a movie when she wakes up!
