I Have Allergies!

Ever since I was 9 months pregnant with Rebekah my skin, eyes and throat have been itching from time to time and I have gotten an ear infection every month. About 2 months ago JJ told me that I probably have allergies so I found a sale on Benadryl and I had coupons as well so I bought some.

I began to take it every night because even though it is non-drowsy it makes me very tired and it was like magic – the itching and ear infections have gone away!

I have been doing other things to help out more like spraying the blinds down with the hose outside – it really is the easiest way to clean the blinds! I have also been vacuuming and dusting more often. I should also change the Hepa filter on our vacuum and the humidifier filters.

I told JJ about how great the allergy medicine was and he told me that I should stop taking it and fight my allergies naturally like get a Neti-Pot. I can see how this would help with my eyes, ears and throat but I don’t know about my skin itching. It is worth a try, though.

The itchy skin might be the dust mites in your mattress…that’s what it was for my sister-in-law. Not much you can do but get a proper mattress cover. Norwex sells a mattress cleaner that helps (norwex.ca). I’m not sure if anyone else does.

I actually do have a bed bug cover over my mattress. I really don’t think that is the problem as my husband doesn’t have itchy skin.

Oh, I have allergies too, and they can be awful. the only thing that helps my itchy skin is to have the humidifier running, drinking lots of water and a good moisturizing lotion.

I think those Nettie Pots are so cool. I was watching Oprah the other day and they them to the whole audience, how fun! Hope you get feeling better, sorry about the allergies. Maybe the upcoming winter will help.
