Monday Afternoon Rebekah began complaining of tummy pains and vomiting. She was acting completely normal though, running around with Sariah and tumbling off the couch. Just like she was before we learned that she had appendicitis.
I went to walmart at midnight to get some anti-nasea medicine for her so she could get some sleep. I bought emetrol – the same stuff they gave her at the hospital. It cost $8.18 (more than all those groceries I bought earlier that day!) so now I have $95.67 left in my grocery budget for this month.
Rebekah slept fine that night but the next day I continued to give her the emetrol and only giving her small amounts of apple juice and crackers. However she still complained about her tummy and continued vomiting. So I took her to the doctors, he said that it didn’t seem to be related to the appendicitis and it was probably a stomach flu. He gave her a prescription strength anti-nausea pill plus another one for me to take home. She went down for a nap when we got home and when she woke up she seemed better. She was keeping her apple juice and crackers down.
I was exhausted from cleaning up after her all day and dizzy because I hadn’t eaten all day (who wants to eat after cleaning up after a sick baby?). When JJ got home I asked him if he wanted to make dinner and he said that he would end up eating the whole time he was cooking and not eat dinner so he went and said he was getting pizza. I told him while he was out to buy the Alavert I had a rain check for since I wanted to use the Albetson’s Twice The Value coupons that expired yesterday which would make 3 boxes only $1.99 each. I showed him a picture of the kind I wanted. I wanted to buy them for my twin sister who has allergies, however he said they were out of the kind I wanted and he came home with the children’s kind! I should have specified that if they did not have what I wanted not to buy any other kind, the raincheck was good for a month so I had time to wait. I wonder if they will exchange unopened boxes of allergy medicine?
Anyways Bekah threw up the whole time JJ was gone. She went to bed soon after he got home and slept well all night. She woke up at 6:30 wanting to eat so I gave her some crackers and a little juice. She seemed normal for an hour. A minute after JJ leaves for work she starts throwing up again! I think JJ needs to stay home!
This is day 3 now of her being sick and no one else in the family has been sick so I’m not sure how likely it is that it could be the flu.
I was asked last week if I wanted to go to the Yanni Voices concert which is today. I was really looking forward to the free concert and backstage passes in exchange for blogging about the experience. I can’t go if Bekah is acting like this though. I emailed the marketing network yesterday to see if they wanted to find someone to take my place but I haven’t heard back. I would feel really bad if I don’t go and someone else could have.
