Parties And Shopping

Saturday was a busy day for us.

First we went to a birthday party. The kids were all given treat bags with bubbles and wands. Sariah and Rebekah had lots of fun blowing bubbles with the other kids and dumping their bubbles on the ground seemed to be fun for them as well. I thought having kids play with the bubbles outside was a great birthday party idea!

Next we went to Ikea to decide on some kitchen design details we were debating on. One of the things we wanted to look at in person was the different sink options they had. I love the idea of colanders and cutting boards that fit onto the sink which will provide more counter space. I thought this was uniquely an Ikea idea but nope, other companies have it as well. In fact I learned that zero radius sinks is giving away free sink grates and colanders with any sink purchase.

We learned that we need to buy our kitchen by June 30th because the prices are changing next month and we’re pretty sure that the set we want to buy is going to be increasing since it is their cheapest model. So we will re-measure everything and finalize our decisions and then buy our cabinets and counter top this month! I am excited! We bought a toy net at ikea so now we have all the toys in baskets under the beds and the stuffies and baby dolls in the toy net on the wall. Yay for an organized bedroom – now we need to work on our bedroom and the rest of the house :)

After our Ikea trip we visited with my brother-in-law and his wife. We all went to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner. It is a soup and salad buffet place, I wasn’t too impressed with the food, though. Last week my brother-in-law picked up a toddler bed for us that we bought for $15. So we took that home with us. Sariah fell asleep in the car so we put her in her bed and set the other bed up in our kitchen. As soon as the bed was set up Rebekah climbed into it and fell right to sleep.

Last night was a little more difficult to get Sariah and Bekah to sleep as they were in the same room and kept trading books during the night. Rebekah also bit Sariah when I asked her why she bit she said “Lila got out of bed”. Rebekah has been so good about not biting for several months I sure hope she doesn’t start that habit again.

I’m glad the girls enjoyed the bubbles. The little ones all played really well together, and we were glad you guys could come. Yay for getting your new cupboards this month! I can’t wait to see how your kitchen looks when it’s done.
