PhotobucketThis comic may make you laugh but with companies like Chrysler and Circuit City going bankrupt many recent college grads and college students are concerned about how much their degree will be worth during a recession. Even jobs that are in high demand like Teachers are getting pay cuts. I don’t think any job is recession proof (unless you have friends in the government) but some are safer than others.

My husband will still be in school for at least another 4 years so hopefully the economy is better then. Still, I am not too worried as there is still a lot of money being invested into Health Research especially the Cancer research which he is currently working in. He is really happy that he is recieving enough funding that he wont have to do anymore teaching assisting as that took up a lot of the time this past semester that he could have used to work on his research project and study for exams. Even with being a TA and missing two days of review classes for finals due to Rebekah being in the hospital he still got A’s in his classes and his professor thinks that his research is worthy of being published in the most prestigious Scientific Journal, Nature. He says that if JJ can get two Journals published with Nature he could get a good job without getting a Post Doctorate degree which is an extra two years. I am proud of my intelligent husband :)
