5 Minutes For Mom‘s annual blog party is going on this week. I learned about it from Kara’s blog and thought I would check it out and see what it is all about.
I learned that it is a way for Mom’s (and Dad’s and anyone else who wants to join) to build friendships and share their blogs with eachother.
If you are coming to my blog from the party, let me introduce myself. I grew up in British Columbia, Canada. I am the first born of 5 children, however my twin sister was born just a few minutes after me. We welcomed a brother to our family when we were 3 and a half and then 8 years after him, a sister. My youngest sister was born 6 years later (when I was 17) so we have big age gaps!
When I was 21 I moved to Salt Lake City to attend LDS Business College. A month after I arrived in Salt Lake my future husband asked me out for the first time. About 6 months later on August 27, 2004 on my 22nd birthday we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend (the day before that was our first kiss! Which was at the One World Cafe) 2 months later we were engaged and 2 months after that we were married in the Salt Lake Temple.
We welcomed our first daughter Sariah Ruth on March 19, 2006 and the second, Rebekah Nartuya on July 19th, 2007. They were both un-medicated births. I feel comfortable with doing things naturally, I use cloth diapers and I feel that breastfeeding is important. I nursed Sariah through almost my entire pregnancy and I am still Rebekah who is 20 months old now. I live a fairly ‘green’ lifestyle not because I fear global warming or running out of water but because I want to respect God’s creation and save money.
Finding ways to save money is important to me as we currently earn only $21,000 a year as my husband is still a student. We expect that he will receive his doctorates during 2013.

I always say that I am “one of the oldest” of course people look confused and then I mention that I am a twin and then say that I was the second born …. haha .. it all makes sense then.
