Bargain Hunting At The Grocery Store
For the last two months I have been comparing sales and coupons at different stores and now I only spend less than half of my grocery budget at Costco because I am finding such good deals. We are also able to buy more food with our small grocery budget and we are even working towards building up our Emergency Food Storage! With gas prices being lower than last year and JJ taking the bus now we don’t spend much on gas anymore so we decided to raise our grocery budget to $200 a month to help us with our food storage goals and help JJ not starve anymore
But again with the ’savvy shopper’ skills I am learning we were not hungry at all and we spent less than $200 on groceries and only ate out once – on valentines. And this is healthy food we buy, I don’t understand when people think it is more expensive to eat healthier – it can be very affordable!
I went to the Sunflower market in Orem for the first time today. I love it! I bought grapes for 62 cents a pound, 19 oz of tofu for a dollar and all natural boneless, skinless chicken for $1.62 a pound. I am happy with those prices! I was disappointed in the Vegan cheese prices because from what I remember it is cheaper in Canada. I was wanting to buy Vegan cheese for my daughters since they are lactose intolerant. If you live in Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Arizona or Colorado you will want to find out if there is a Sunflower Market close to you. They have awesome prices on produce and great sales on healthy, natural foods! I even got 10 cents off because I used a reusable canvas shopping bag
Each week I am excited to find out what great deals I am going to find! I even find wonderful deals at the overpriced unionized Albertsons each month!

When I run out of plastic bags for the bathroom garbage can I take bags from the “bag recycling bin” at Walmart where people put their plastic bags they don’t need and JJ says I am stealing them. I think their purpose is for people to take them who need it
