The Last Lee Brother To Go On A Mission

JJ’s parents have 4 sons and they have encouraged all of their sons to serve missions for our church. In the LDS church the young men and women do not choose where they go, they are assigned to an area by our church leaders. Retired couples sometimes choose where to serve missions, I hope to serve a mission with JJ when we are old
The young men usually serve for 2 years while the young women serve for 18 months. Girls are not as encouraged to serve missions but many still do. I thought about going on a mission when I was 21 but then felt impressed to go to school in Utah instead, I met my husband soon after so it was a good decision I made!
It is interesting where the Lee boys have been called to. The oldest went to Japan, then JJ went to Mongolia, then the next brother went to St. Petersburg, Russia and now the youngest will be serving in Samara, Russia! This is especially interesting as JJ’s sister has an interest in studying those countries in former soviet union areas.
I amĀ excited for Ryan and looking forward to my brother returning from his mission in Ecuador at the end of this year!

I think the boys get sent to their missions based on who I am married to. JJ and Adam went to Asian places and Stephen and Ryan went to Russia. They don’t have missionaries in Uzbekistan.
Does that sound narcissistic?
