My Children Don’t Let Me Exercise

One of my resolutions for this year is to exercise at least three times a week. I went to the library and found that there was one fitness DVD (a George Foreman Walk It Off DVD) left – I guess a lot of people had the same resolution :)

I learned that it is harder to work out than I thought. Sariah and Rebekah are all over me, wanting to be picked up and recieving attention. I try to divert their attention with toys and food but it doesn’t work.

I am thinking I may need to choose a different work out routine … Maybe dancing to upbeat childrens music… ha ha…

I wish I could get a gym pass because I liked the strength training I did when I went to a gym several years ago, but they are so expensive especially if you want one with childcare. My fitness goals have nothing to with looking for weight loss products – according to my husband my body is perfect :) I just want to live a healthier lifestyle.

Some gyms offer daycare. Maybe you could try that? That way you can work out and the kids have a good time too.

My girls are the same. If I don’t want to take them, the only time I have to go workout would be at 5am because of my work schedule too. Once I get the green light to go back, I will.

What about a Rec Centre? The one hear offers an hour of childcare if you buy at least a three month pass and they are usually more reasonably priced than other gyms. Of course I have yet to do this myself. :)

I like to put Nathan in the stroller and go walking. I’ll stop at the park for a break and to let Nathan get good and tired for naptime.

I would go for a walk with my girls every day in Washington but the sidewalks in Utah are all icy right now.

Maybe you could design some type of game that involves running around the house, up stairs, down stairs , etc. Well, maybe you don’t want to encourage that. When it gets warmer the park will give you a good workout, climbing on the aparatus and stuff.

We can run up and down our one step until someone falls down :) Sariah hates the snow so she wont play outside with me!

What about during nap time? Or if you have another TV, put on a “new” video from the library for them to enjoy.

My ward set up an exercise group. Thy meet at the church three times a week. They play a video usually and the kids play together on the other side of the room.
