Many toys that my brother (Craig), twin sister (Sara-Jayne) and I played with as children have been redesigned for the current generation of children (our youngest sister and my children). Here are a few ”comback” toys:
My Little Pony: Sara-Jayne and I would play with our My Little Ponies for hours just using our imaginations and re-enacting scenes from the videos. The my little ponies may not look too different from the originals but they are more technologically advanced. You can buy my little ponies to play interactive TV games with and ponies that crawl.
Etch A Sketch: A fun toy for all ages. I remember trying over and over just to be able to draw a house. Now you can draw in a variety of colours with an etch a sketch, play etch a sketch computer games and soon you will even be able to play on your cell phone.
Strawberry Shortcake: When Strawberry Shortcake made her comeback several years ago girls from the 80′s went crazy about it. Women decorated their daughters rooms in Shortcake deco and Sara-Jayne dressed up as Strawberry Shortcake for Halloween. Strawberry has set aside her floral printed dresses for fitted jeans, striped shirt with a sweater loosely tied around her waist.
PS2: I remember Craig playing with his PlayStation until 3 in the morning and how Sara-Jayne and I needed his permission to play with it. The PS2 now has a new modern design that is smaller and comes with DualShock controllers.
What was your favourite toy as a child?

My Little Ponies. My brothers and I would have a war between the My Little Ponies and GI Joes. I had the My Little Pony Castle and my brothers had the COBRA Commnad Center as our bases. I always tried to argue that the pnies would win because they had something that GI Joe didn’t – magic
We still argue about that. Who do you think would win a My Little Pony/GI Joe war?

Amber, JJ told me about his GI Joe’s fighting with your ponies! I would have to say My Little Pony’s magic would beat GI Joe any day

I guess we should clarify that I dressed up as Strawberry Shortcake for Halloween last year.
I still love the 80s toys!

I loved My Little Pony! I think I had three or four of them. Mine came with a little comb to brush its tail.
