In a nation that use their treadmills as book shelves and lives on take out and convenience food. Many Americans (and other countries) give themselves the status of the most obese country in the world. A recent European study recently showed Australia as being the most obese country, however I could not find anywhere how this study was conducted so I do not trust the research. Many other studies I looked at did not have recent statistics for all the countries they showed. For example some countries had 2003 data while others had 2008 data.
I decided to find out how the World Health Organization rates obesity by country. According to a study conducted last year the United States ranks as #9, not surprisingly most of the top 10 countries are from the South Pacific. Australia ranks at #21 while my nationality, Canada ranks at #35 right after Mongolia #34 (where JJ lived for 2 years). View the entire list here. I doubt that Australia has surpassed the US by 12 places in one year but we will have to wait for the next WHO study to see what they say.
The bottom 5 on the list Sri Lanka, Viet Nam, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, and Eritrea would probably choose obesity over starving.

A european study did say that Australia is #1 but I could not find out how they counducted their research so I find this study more reliable but I’m not saying it is totally accurate.

Lat night Stephen and I looked up the country that is number one on the forbes list and it is this small island that is only 21 ft2, and has a population of like 9000 people. It can’t be difficult to have 90% of the population overweight when the population is so small
