Update On The House

The beginning of this week we learned that we now wont qualify for the house until JJ recieves his first pay check from his grad program stipend and after not being able to get a co-signer we met with the seller and real estate agents to work out a lease to own deal. So we will end up having to pay more for the house but at least we don’t have to go look for another apartment since we need to be out of this one soon. The apartment we are living in is a male student apartment complex, since a lot of students don’t attend school over the summer they open up some of the apartments for families over the summer.
The only downside to buying this house is that my husband wont be able to walk to school and we only have 1 car. He is thinking of getting a bike but I don’t think it’s going to be easy to bike to school when it is snowing.

I’m glad you were able to work something out.

Just before I read the last sentence, bike came to my mind too! Then when I saw the ‘snow’ ….my heart sank.
Hmmmm…this is gonna be a challenging question…

Do you use the car? Is that why JJ can’t take it to school? Yea, a bike in the snow wouldn’t be fun t all.

We try to drive as little as possible and walk everywhere we can but sometimes I will go grocery shopping while he’s at work or run other errands.

on grocery days you could always drop JJ off. We lived with one car for most of our marriage. It was rough in Hawaii where we lived about 20 minutes from the army base. (by car) Luckily in Hawaii, it was always warm so most days I could walk to the store or take a bus. If I needed to grocery shop, I would drop Aziz off. I also car pooled a lot with friends to go to the library or the beach, etc. You’ll work it out.

We only had one car our first few years, and both had different school schedules, we had to take turns and I usually dropped him off and picked him up from work, and if I had to go somewhere when he had the car I walked. It was no fun
I hope you figure something out. I’m glad you will be able to still get the house, though sorry it’s going to end up costing more.
