What Apartment Doesn’t Wash The Carpets Before You Move In!?

I talked to my apartment manager about how dirty our apartment was when we moved in, she seemed very apologetic about it. The manager does seem very nice but a little disorganized, she doesn’t know what happened to the maitnance form we filled out last saturday to repair our air conditioner and dishwasher. I filled another one out so hopefully they will be fixed before the weather starts to get hot again.
Before I left I asked if the carpets were cleaned before we moved in and she said that it wasn’t so yesterday we had to move all the furniture into the kitchen and two teenage girls came by with their steam cleaners to clean the floors in all the apartments. First of all they just cleaned the living room then left so I went outside and asked them if they were going to clean the bedroom floors, their reply was “It’s what you want”(what kind of reply is that?), I just said “sure, I would like the bedrooms floor cleaned as well” (of course I do! I have two babies crawling all over the floors!)
Hopefully the apartment management and us just got off to a bad start and the next 3 months go well.

What kind of reply is that? That’s pushing the blame! Service rated – F (Failed)

The service is not very good so far but it’s just a temporary summer apartment so I will just try to make the best of it.

Maybe you should write customer complain to get the management attention. What happened is really bad and indicating very poor service.

WOW. I was apartment hunting today and all the places I went to said the carpet is always REPLACED when someone moves out. So asking for the carpets to be shampooed is not something they should complain about.

Out of the 7 apartments we’ve lived in the only apartment that had the carpets replaced before we moved in was the one in Washington and that was just because the people who lived there before smoked.
