Sariah At 26 Months And Rebekah At 10 Months

Monday, May 19th, 2008

sa400369.JPGIt is my girls month day today! So much has happened within the last month - they are growing up quickly!

Sariah is talking a lot now, she LOVES letters and will point to every letter she see’s and tell us what it is. She also likes to count (up to 6) and practice learning colours. We recently learned that Sariah is lactose intolerant. I kept bringing it up with the doctors soon after she turned a year old and started drinking cows milk that it wasn’t agreeing with her but they told me that she just needed to get used to it. It took over a week of trying lactose free milk for her symptoms to go away, even yogurt does not go well with her!

Sariah is becoming even more independent. She needs to climb out of her car-seat herself and often wants to dress herself and put her own shoes on so leaving the house takes a little longer now.

Rebekah took her first steps yesterday!!!! We were at church and she saw a couple one year old’s walking around and she stood up on her own and took three steps towards one of the babies. As we were getting ready to go home Sariah and Rebekah were holding hands walking down the hall together, which was beyond precious! If only I took the video camera to church :)

Bekah also ate spaghetti for the first time:

She ate every last strand!

Our Moving Adventure

Monday, May 19th, 2008

We left Washington on thursday morning and stopped off in Pendelton, Oregon for the night. I picked up room saver flier and it looked like hotels were cheaper an hour away and we were tierd and didn’t want to drive into the mountains until the morning. There was an $80 coupon for a Holiday Inn in Pendelton, I wasn’t planning on using it since I was sure there was something cheaper. All the hotels were packed and even the cheap motels were either full or charging a hundred dollars for a room. So I figured that we might as well stay at a nice hotel for $80 with our coupon but the Holiday Inn would not give us the $80 price so we ended up paying $100 for our room. It was a nice room but after 3 months of sleeping on a  memory foam mattress I found the bed a little uncomfortable.

We arrived in Provo around midnight Saturday morning. My brother in law and his wife helped us with move in on Saturday afternoon and now we have just about everything organized in our new apartment! It is an alright apartment I was disappointed at the cleanliness, I thought that student apartments were given strict cleaning inspections. I didn’t mind all the food and cleaning supplies the boys who lived there before left behind but the used toothbrushes and bars of soap were kind of gross. Someone even left a graduation tassell behind.

Sariah and Rebekah were much better than we expected on the drive. We made sure to tell Sariah often how good she was being and we even bought her some candy at a gas station which she was excited about since we hardly ever let her eat candy.
