Last night ‘the idols’ sang 3 songs each, one that the judges picked, one that they pick and one that the producers pick. I thought that the best song choices came from the producers. During the beginning of the show my husband turned to me and said “do you know what the perfect song for David Cook would be? Aerosmith’s I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” Sure enough that was the song the producers chosed!
Here are my rankings:
David Archuleta - David’s second song was very awkward - he is not a hip hop artist! However his vocals are amazing and I do hope he wins American Idol.
David Cook - Very talented and versatile. I didn’t care much for his first two songs but his last performance of ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” was probably the best of the night.
Syesha Mercado - I am sure she is so happy to be in the top 3 and she is a fantastic singer but I think even she is expecting to go home tonight.

I actually didn’t like how David Cook sounded last night, especially with the last one lol, I just really don’t think his voice and singing style fits with the songs he sang. And I liked Syesha better than him, her voice was beautiful last night. Of course I still think David A did the best, my Hubby who doesn’t really like AI much even said that he sounded the best
My guess is Syesha going home tonight too.

I heard rumours said that David’s father, Jeff Archuleta, has been banned from American Idol set. It also said that Jeff Archuleta can no longer join his 17-year-old son at the rehearsal as David prepares for the show.

I don’t think people should jump to conclusions right away. It could just be that all contestants have to be on their own and no one can have anyone with them. Jeff was probably just singled out because David is the only one that always has someone with him and is also the only minor. I can’t say for sure but once again I think people are just trying to start something, although I am sure it will be one of David Archuleta’s first interview questions after American Idol is over.

It will be interesting to see who wins, the competition is probably really close. I did read on the official idol website that all family members are banned from the backstage rehersals during the last 3 weeks.
