It is down to 9 Contestants and overall they are sounding pretty good. Last night all the contestants sang Dolly Parton songs, I didn’t know she had written so many songs. I atually even voted for the first time last night. I voted for Brooke White about 10 times. As usual here are my thoughts on last nights performers starting with my favourite:
- David Archuleta - David sang “Smoky Mountain Memories” and it was, I thought the best perfomance of the whole season 7. I really want to hear the full length studio version when it becomes available on youtube.
- Brooke White - Brooke sang “Jolene” and Eventhough the judges didn’t think it was her best performance I really enjoyed it.
- Syesha Mercado - Syesha sang “I Will Always Love You”, I actually liked her version more than Whitney Houston’s.
- Carly Smithson - Carly sang “Here You Come Again”. She has such a beautiful voice which is a little like Celine Dion’s.
- David Cook - David sang “Little Sparrow” and as Simon said he sang a song about sparrows and made it good. I thought it was funny how they worked it into the show for David Cook to pretty much credit each band he had borrowed renditions from. I guess they had to do it for fears of lawsuits.
- Jason Castro - Jason sang “Travelin Thru”. This is the best he has been for a few weeks!
- Michael Johns- Michael sang “It’s All Wrong But It’s Alright”, the judges seemed to think it was his best performance so far. I think he’s a great singer but I didn’t really like his performance last night.
- Kristy Lee Cook - Kristi sang “Coat Of Many Colors”, I think with a better song she could have done a better performance seen how county music is her style.
- Ramiele Malubay - Ramiele sang “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind”. She was alright I just didn’t enjoy it as much as the others.
My prediction for the bottom three are Ramiele, Kristy and Jason with Ramiele going home.

I like reading your overviews of AI since I never get to watch it (Hubby doesn’t like it lol). I usually watch some on youtube when they get posted.

As you could tell from My Blog - David Archuleta is my favourite out of all the contestans who have ever been on American Idol. I liked Clay Aitken and carrie Underwood alot as well. I loved his performance last night.
I am also rooting for Brooke White and also really liked Syesha’s rendition of “I will always love you”. It was unfair of Simon to compare it to Whitny’s - she made it her own.
I also agree with your bottom 3 predictions.

My husband used to complain about American Idol and would just play computer games while I watched. Now he’s watching the show with me and we usually end up talking about our thoughts about the show and predicting who will go home the rest of the night.

I was surprised to see Brooke on the bottom 3 though. The first time I actually vote for her and she ends up on the bottom 3!

I was surprised to see Brooke in the bottom 3 last night! I know she didn’t have her best performance on Tuesday, but come on! Well, at least she’s still around.

I’m bummed that I didn’t get to see it either night this week. I also enjoy reading your Idol reviews. You were right this week! I’ve never voted!
