Melissa’s Place

Since the top 12 were created I think this is the best that we have seen the contestants perform. It was hard for me to pick my top 3 and hard to pick my bottom three. I enjoyed seeing all the cute baby pictures of the contestants and hearing their parents talk about them. I thought Michael Johns and Kristy Lee Cook were the biggest surprises of the show, their performances were their best yet!

Here are my favourites starting with the performance I enjoyed the most:

1. Brooke White - I actually really liked it when the band joined in with her eventhough the judges thought she would have done better if it was just her on the piano.
2. Michael Johns - I really enjoyed this performance of Queen’s “We Are The Champions” eventhough I knew that after he was finished my husband was going to retell the story of how he taught that song to high school students he taught English to in Mongolia.
3. Kristy Lee Cook - Again I really liked this performance because it really showed that Kristy is working hard to improve. Eventhough I am Canadian I really like this song, someone needs to make a good Canadian version of that song. My husband’s Canadian version is all about hockey games and free healthcare (which isn’t really free).
4.  David Arculeta - This kid still definitely has the best vocals my only complaint is that I thought the band was too loud and it kinda drowned his voice out.
5. Carly Smithson - I was surprised last week to see her in the bottom 3 and I hope this performance helps remind people that she is really good.
6. Chikeze - I like his more soulful performances more than his ‘hoe downs’.
7. Syesha - Last week Syesha really started perfoming well and had another great performance last night.
8. Jason Castro - I think this guy needs to be in the bottom 3 to help him take the competition more seriously.
9. Ramielle Malubay - I didn’t like the beginning of her performance or the end just the little part in the middle. I think this will put her in the bottom 3 this week.
10. David Cook - I know many people are calling this the best perfomance of the night but I just didn’t like this weeks or last weeks performance but I still think he is one of the most talented contestants.

I would choose Ramielle, Jason and Syesha for the bottom 3 but I predict that it will be Ramielle, Chikeze and Syesha with Ramielle going home.
