This was the week of really bad performances and really bad fashion choices as well. Michael Johns looked good, Chikeze and David Archuleta were alright but everyone else’s fashion was awful. It seemed like everyone choosed their songs yesterday morning and just started practicing a few hours before the show. On monday Simon Cowell was on Oprah and said that David Archuleta is the most likely to win this year (duh!) but not to rule out Brooke White, David Cook or Jason Castro.
David Archuleta - David remembered his lyrics this time and gave the best performance of the night. Simon called it amazing.
Carly Smithson - For the second time in a row she is in my #2 spot. Is it just me or does she look pregnant?
Brooke White - I don’t think her performance was as bad as the judges said it was. I thought she had a fun performance. I think if she had her guitar with her, the performance would have been better.
Ramielle Malubay - Again I don’t think it was as bad as the judges said. I thought she sang very well.
Syesha Mercado - Very good vocals but I thought she slowed the song down too much. I think she was 8 month old Rebekah’s favourite because she clapped for her.
Chikeze - I actually thought the beginning of his song was really good, he has a really nice soulful voice but then he got out the harmonica and the performance went kind of downhill.
Jason Castro - As one of the contestants who are most likely to win his last two performances have not been that good.
Michael Johns - He was so good last week and this week could really hurt him. I hope he’s not in the bottom 3 but he might be.
David Cook - Yes, the guy is talented and probably has the most variety of any contestant but I really didn’t like him last night because his performance scared my little Bekah and she was shaking for about 30 seconds during his performance.
Kristy Lee Cook - I liked her in the beginning but now I just don’t think she is among the best performers.
Amada Overmyer - Again I just really don’t like her style. I think she needs to try something new, she does the same thing every week.
I predict that Amanda, Kristy and Michael Johns will be in the bottom three with Kristy going home.
I wrote a blog about American Idol on my blog and we had the same bottom 3 prediction except I said Jason Castro instead of Michael Johns. I was really surprised that Carly was in the bottom 3 but glad that Amanda is gone home, I think it was a combination of her singing (it is more of a pop conest) and her personality. She seems kind of hostile compared to the other contestants.
