While visiting my family one year for Christmas while I was 7 months pregnant with Sariah I fell down the stairs. I was of course worried very worried about my baby and my dad was very nervous as well and asked me if I knew if I was still covered under the Canadian Government Healthcare. I knew I wasn’t because I had to send them some documents telling them that I was now a US resident to avoid having to pay the Insurance premium. I was just very conscious about the baby’s movements and everything was just fine.

Since then I have often wondered how much would it cost to have by family covered travel health insurance so I went to worldtravelcenter.com and learned that it would cost $28.80 for my family of 4 to be covered with Health Insurance if we were to visit Canada for 5 days. Not bad at all. It would be about $358 for my parents and two youngest sisters to have travel health insurance while visiting us in the US for 5 days though.

Wow, what a price difference. It’s quite sad how costly health care is in the US compared to other countries.
