Reagan Library Debate – Who Was The Winner?

I watched CNN’s Reagan Library Debate and decided to post my views on the debate here. I will talk about each candidate in the order of who I thought did the best during the debate.
Mike Huckabee- Governor Huckabee in my opinion was the big winner of this debate. He knew when to make a joke and his ideas were very well said, each answer he gave was almost like a sermon. Huckabee is a man of great moral standards which I believe is an important characteristic when choosing a president. However I don’t think he is the best choice for president, he does seem like a very gentle man and a president can’t be soft with everyone.
Mitt Romney- Governer Romney was no doubt the most entertaining of all the candidates. I really think McCain needed to be chewed out on national television for what he said about Romney during the campaigning in Florida. However Romney attacking McCain did take away from what the debate was supposed to be – a debate of ideas. Romney is also a man of great moral standards but he can also be fierce. I believe that of all the republican candidates Romney would make the best president. I actually think Romney and Huckabee would make a good team. If McCain ends up with the most delegates I hope those two will put their delegates together and go for President and Vice President.
Ron Paul – For some reason the panel did not allow Ron Paul much time to speak. I thought that the little bit he said was very intelligent. He chastised the other candidates and reminded everyone that the purpose of the debate was to debate ideas not issues.
John McCain- If McCain wins the most delegates in California it wont be because of his performance during the debate. He looked embarrassed and guilty during the debate (thanks to Romney). He will never admit it but he knows that what he did was deceitful. Imagine if the election comes down to Hillary Clinton and John McCain, the campaign on both sides would be full of lies!
