Last night when I heard of the passing of President Gordon B. Hinkley I was saddened by the news. He has been the Leader of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints since I was 12 years old. I have always enjoyed his optimism of the youth of the church and his wonderful counsel he has given on marriage that has helped me strengthen my own marriage. President Hinkley and his wife (who passed away almost 4 years ago) were wonderful examples of what a happy marriage was. I remember many years ago President Hinkley spoke of the love that he and his wife had for eachother and said that they hoped that when one passed the other would soon follow. I know that he must be overjoyed to once again be reunited with his wife.
President Hinkley was 97 years old at the time of his passing. Even at this age he was full of vigor and a love of learning.

Horaayy..there are 2 comment(s) for me so far ;)
Well said, Pres. Hinckley has definatly had a big impact on our generation as we grew up with him. I love all of his words of wisdom and insights he has given to us, and those will always remain, he has left behind a great legacy. It is such a big comfort to know that we will soon have another Prophet to guide us.
