One of my favourite traditions are those involving new babies.

Before our daughters were born I crocheted them each a blanket, my mother-in-law sewed them a quilt and my twin sister made them a family tree with all the names of their ancestors on it.

While we were at a friends house before our first daughter was born, this friend showed us a bassinett he made for his baby. My husband then announced that he was going to make something for his baby with his tool box. I don’t think you can make a bassinett with a screwdriver and hammer, I think you would need some power tools such as festool.

He then decided to buy the kids a stuffed animal after they were born. Maybe someday he will get his power tools and he can make something for the kids when they move out of our house.

Remember the toy boxes Dad made for us, I wish we still had them … as well as the tree house and doll house.
