Fortunately I have never experienced migraines, however I do know several people are affected by Migraines and notice the great deal of pain that is caused by their migraines. One vital step to treating migraines is to find out what is causing your migraines. Some major causes of migraines are as follows:

Dehydration: Water is extremely important for our health it helps our bodies function properly. Drinking plenty of water to prevent migraines makes sense to me as a few months ago I had neck pain and my husband suggested that I increase the amount of water I drink, I did so and it helped.

Lighting/Computer Screens: Most of the people I know who suffer from migraines work in a situation where they are staring at a computer screen most of the day. A glare screen that you can fit over your computer screen may help and also positioning your self so you are not directly facing bright lights.

The weather: Some migraine suffers are sensitive to weather changes, some to hot temperature and others to cold temperatures.

Many migraine experts recommend keeping a “migraine diary”. Write down your activities, the weather, the foods you eat and when your migraines occur. This will allow you to find out what is triggering your migraines.

Thank you for posting this. I suffer from migraines, and I didn’t know that the weather can affect it. I haven’t had one since Spring ‘07.
