My husband and I have different views on how we should pay back our student loan. My husband is wanting to put 65% of his internship income towards the loan while I am thinking more like 15%. I can understand that he really wants to avoid paying interest and for the first 6 months after he graduates we don’t have to pay interest. However, I feel that it is better to pay a little interest than put ourselves into a financial situation where we would need to take out another loan.  Especially since we don’t know how long it will take him to find a job after the internship is over in May.

BYU-Idaho offers Student Loan counselling maybe we should sign up for that and go to the meeting together.

yes, it’s best to make those decisions together but I do agree more with your view .. you don’t want to starve just inacse you wont be able to repay your whole loan within 6 months of graduation.
