I started working in Market Research soon after I started going to school at BYU-Idaho, I finally quit before Sariah turned a year old. I really did hate calling people up and asking them to do a survey for us, I know almost everyone was annoyed by it.
If you really don’t like these sort of people calling you the best thing to say is “take me off your call list”. This however only takes you off the list for that particular survey. It is also important to note that “Do not call lists” do not apply to market research companies, only telemarketers. This is obviously because the government uses market research companies to conduct their research.
I think online surveys are a much better market research option for companies as people are more willing to share their opinions when they can do it at time that is convenient for them and they are also awarded with points, cash and other prizes.
My husband and I have different views on how we should pay back our student loan. My husband is wanting to put 65% of his internship income towards the loan while I am thinking more like 15%. I can understand that he really wants to avoid paying interest and for the first 6 months after he graduates we don’t have to pay interest. However, I feel that it is better to pay a little interest than put ourselves into a financial situation where we would need to take out another loan. Especially since we don’t know how long it will take him to find a job after the internship is over in May.
BYU-Idaho offers Student Loan counselling maybe we should sign up for that and go to the meeting together.
I have a hard time knowing if I am being lied to, I guess I am just too trusting of people but it really does hurt when I find out later that someone lied to me. My husband on the other hand is very good at knowing if someone is lying. I guess that skill came from him being a Branch President in Mongolia (Like a bishop of a small congregation). Often times he will tell me that someone is lying about a certain thing and I will disagree but of course the truth comes out in the end and I always learn that he was right.
If you would like some help in knowing if you are being lied to there is a new technology anyone can use called LiarCard. This technology is used on TV shows like MTV’s “Exposed” and in the upcoming Fox Reality series “Moment of Truth” as well as by law enforcement and security organizations.
LiarCard works by recording a phone conversation with the person you are confronting (without them knowing what you are doing!) the technology then analyzes over 80 different pitch levels in your voice with 800 algorithms per second. It can be used in any language and is over 95% accurate. Go to http://www.LiarCard.com to learn more.
Why am I still awake? Because I am nursing my daughter all night, she is always hungry now. I feed her for about 2 hours and then I give her 2 ounces of formula and then feed her again, then give her more formula and she is still hungry!
She is only 4 months old so I don’t really want to give her solids yet but Sariah was acting hungry all the time at 6 months so I started giving her solids and that solved the problem. I will set up an appointment with her doctor next week when she is due for her 4 month immunizations and see what he thinks.
If you didn’t watch Oprah today it was about amazing weight-loss stories. I love hearing about these kind of success stories especially about people who work hard at loosing weight and not just undergoing surgery or taking diet pills.
Oprah’s last weight-loss challenge involved 6 people. Well, at the end of the show she announce that her next challenge will involve 1 million people!!! If you want to take the challenge just go to her website.
A nurse in Massachussets is proposing a ban on parents spanking their children. I don’t spank my children and I believe that there are better, more effective ways of discipling children but I do not agree with this proposal. We need to focus on the real abusers. More harm will be done in charging or sentencing a loving parent to jail than a child recieving a spanking.
I updated my Internet Explorer yesterday and I really like their newest version. The tool bar is smaller and it has everything that was offered on the previous version plus some cool features like tabs, a popup blocker, phishing filter and it makes printing out web pages easier. You can also add numerous other add-ons so it is kind of a combination of Internet Explorer and Fire Fox.
If you haven’t already downloaded the latest version just click on your windows update icon and it should download for you.
One of my favourite things about Christmastime is Christmas music! Last year my husband and I had fun looking up Christmas music videos on you tube, this year I would like to share some of my favourites. One of my favourite Christmas songs is “Mary Did You Know” because it focuses on all of Christ’s life. I looked through several videos and this one is my favourite:
I recently started a forum for another blog and every day I am deleting spam on it. Marie gave me the idea of seeing if there was a way to have their first couple of posts moderated before it shows up on the forum (like what I do for my blogs) but I still haven’t figured out if I can do this. The worst part is that they are all promoting porn, I would rather see all the phentermine and hydroxycut spam I get on this blog.
My husband and I will be enjoying a free dinner at Olive Garden next month on our 3rd anniversary thanks to MyPoints! I racked up enough points this year for a $25 gift card. I didn’t really do much, just read some e-mails and used their Credit Card. If you would like to use me as a referral let me know, I would appreciate the extra points
Several years ago the US assisted Iraq in helping them with their power supply repair and built a new power plant with the hope of helping them rebuild their country. Two years ago the US transferred their responsibility of maintaining the plant to Iraq. Many of the Iraqi contractors are not fulfilling the terms they agreed to and the plant is not being well maintained.
This is however also a problem here in the US as many projects that have been paid for with government grants won are not meeting their objective goals with some projects even being cancelled or given to other organizations to complete.
I mentioned before that my husband has a paid internship starting in January. We just found out what he will be getting paid and they are even paying for us to move to Washington and pay for part of our rent - actually depending on the apartment I find, most of our rent! We hope to put this extra money towards paying back our student loan.
Winter is arriving and many people are wishing they were somewhere warmer. Taking a winter vacation does not have to be overly expensive; in fact there are 4 night carnival cruises to the Caribbean for less than a plane ticket to Hawaii. That price includes all the taxes and surcharges as well!My husband and I really want to go on a Cruise for our anniversary one year. A cruise to the Caribbean would be perfect since our Anniversary is in December.
