When Sariah was born I would take her everywhere with me and convinced my husband to let her sleep in our room until she was 9 months old. When I needed to take a shower I would bring her into the bathroom with me and sit her in her bouncy chair or wait until she was down for a nap. I was just too scared to let her cry!
Now that has all changed. When I need to go for a shower I put Sariah in her room to play with her toys and Rebekah in her bassinett…she can entertain herself for a while looking at her hands! And if Rebekah is babbling at night or wanting to eat all night I put her in the living room where she almost always sleeps through the night.
It is funny when I tell new mom’s about this and they usually say something like I don’t know if I could ever do that, I have to take my baby everywhere with me.

Well, I only have one and I wish I could have been more relaxed with her! Live and learn right?

Ha, Ha, Ha I am on my third and still co-sleep and hold him almost all day. That is just me though

I think co-sleeping is a great idea but it doesn’t work for me. JJ doesn’t like babies in the bed because he’s elbowed Sariah a couple of times and rolled over on Rebekah’s arm (not her fault her arms are so long!) Also when she is close to me she just wants to eat all night but when she’s in her bassinett she can sleep until about 7 or 8 in the morning.
I do hold her most of the day … they don’t stay little forever!

Yeah, the only reason why I co-sleep is because I hate to get out of bed. I don’t do it for any philosophical reasons or because I think I am better or anything. Also, I once almost dropped Aron. I was really tired and half asleep when I went to pick him up out of his bassinet. I picked him up and tried to rock him to sleep and began to fall asleep myself. Very scary! So I just co-sleep. I just don’t do well at 6 AM when Aron wakes up. When he is teething he wakes up more. I don’t do 4 or 6 AM!!
That is why I applaud women who can handle having their babies sleeping in another room. I can’t do it.

Maddy began to sleep in her room at about 12 weeks. We all slept better because of it. When she was in her bassinet next to me, I would awake if she made the tiniest noise. I would just lay awake and watch her. Then when I would finally fall asleep, she would wake up. Not fun at all.
