Dentist Appointment

I was able to get an appointment for a free new patient dental exam. It was a different experience from the other times I went to the dentist. The first x-ray was one that rotated around my head, I had never seen one of those before. I thought maybe it was a new thing but my husband said he got those x-rays done when he was younger.
Like everyother dentist this dentist when he looked at the x-rays laughed about how I have all my teeth and still have space in my mouth. He jokingly said “but I’m not saying you have a big mouth”.
The result is that I have a couple of fillings that are starting to decay. One is really soft so I am going to get that refilled and the other he said he will just keep an eye on. The thing that is really giving my a lot of pain is that my gums are starting to receed which he says happens when you get old (since when did 25 become old?). He said the pain will go away on it’s own but it takes several months or even years for that to happen so this coming up wednesday I am going to get a filling and a sealent on my gums for some immediate pain relief. The cost for both procedures is going to be $150 it’s a lot of money but a whole lot cheaper than I thought it would be.
