Our dishwasher hadn’t been working since we moved into this apartment almost 3 months ago. The maitnance guy finally fixed it a few days ago. I am loving how much less time it takes to do the dishes now. I used to have to do dishes 3 or 4 times a day now I can just do it once a day and the kitchen also looks cleaner because there are hardly ever dishes in the sink and on the counters now.

According to my electric company’s saving energy brochure doing dishes once a day in a dishwasher uses less energy than doing dishes 3 times a day by hand. My dishwasher also has a no heat dry option for even more energy savings!

Just wondering if you’ve tried the no-heat option for drying yet? I have that on mine too but haven’t tried it out. Wondered if the dishes get dry and if they’re spotty without the heat.

Congrats on your dishwasher. I hate doing dishes by hand, so I am happy for anyone that has a working dishwasher. I wish you many happy days of freedom from hand washing dishes :)

PS I have a post about that *thing* you sent me. lol Check it out.

Isn’t it great?! We’ve always had a dishwasher, but the kitchen seems to always be messy. Hmmm….maybe because the husband and child don’t put the dishes IN the dishwasher…that’s a whole other story.

Oh, and I never use the heat on mine. It melted a spatula once. Talk about messy!

My dishes come out wet whether I use the heat dry or not. I guess I should use Jet Dry.

JJ doesn’t put the dishes in the dishwasher either but I just have 1 person to leave dishes around. I’ll have to train him before the kids get older. :)

The only thing i can say about dishwashers is do not use regular hand dish washing liquid when you run out of soap for the dish washer. Bubbles everywhere!
