What To Do Without Electricity?

When the power goes out we realize how much we rely on electricity throughout the day. To cook, vaccum, listen to music, for light, use the computer. However not being able to use electricity while we wait for the power supply repair allows us to come up with some very creative ideas which gives us fun memories to last a lifetime.
I can remember one such memory. It was Easter about six years ago and the electricity shut off just has my dad was preparing Easter dinner. We ended up barbequing our dinner and having a candlelight dinner. I also remember having to crawl around the floor in the dark looking for my baby sister who was just several months old. It was probably one of the most memorable Easters I’ve had.
What are some ways that you have made the best of situation when the electricity has gone out?

I have a lot of experience with this. Every summer in Minnesota when there is a bad summer the electricty goes out from 1-5 days. I remember having to take the milk and other highly perishable foods in a cooler with ice, and BBQing a lot. Everybody was always upstairs because the basement was like a dungeon. Oh, good times

Our electricity has never gone out for more than 10 minutes, so I wouldn’t know what to do.
