Needing Information About Diabetes

My little 7 year old sister has been sick this week and I just found out that my parents took her to the hospital and they found out that she has diabetes. She has to stay in the hospital for a week!
I feel so bad for her, now she needs take insulin and watch her diet. As most kids (people) she loves foods high in sugar.
If anyone knows of any good sites or other places to find information about diabetes please let me know. I am also thinking of adding a category to my recipe blog with recipes that are good for people who are diabetic.

I think it is type 1 because she’s not overweight, it doesn’t run in our family and my sister was saying that she was really thirsty and going to the bathroom a lot.

Yes, it is type 1 and if anything she’s underweight! (and always has been).
Her blodd sugars are still on the high side but she’s definatly alot more active now and back to her regular “attitude”.
I think your idea of a diabetic section on your recipie blog is a great idea!
