For many teens stress and depression is a big problem and they often don’t know how to deal with it themselves. It is important for parents, teachers and other supportive adults in the teens life to be educated on the signs of depression so they can encourage teenagers to seek help.

Some signs are:

  • Frequent Sadness, crying.
  • Writing poems and stories with depressing and morbid themes.
  • Loose interest in activities and hobbies they once enjoyed.
  • Increased sensitivity, anger and irritability.
  • Self destructive behavior such as abusing alcohol, drugs and injuring themselves.

Fortunately there are resources to help with improving teen self esteem, reducing stress levels and rehab programs for drug abuse.
