I found a rocking glider for $20 from someone who was moving and the seller e-mailed me a picture. I then called the seller and told her that my husband would pick up the glider that evening, she said that was fine and gave me her address. My husband went to the apartment and there was no answer, he then called and the sellers husband told him that they sold it to someone else!
This really annoyed me as I thought we had an agreement that I was going to buy it and a rocking chair is the one piece of home furniture at the top of my wish list.
Should I be annoyed or is it fair game for someone to pick it up before me after the seller telling me that I could pick it up that evening?

Please do not use Keywords for your name. No, it’s not fair. And yes, you should be annoyed. If you had an agreement, it should be kept. It’s called common courtesy.

You have every right to be upset. What’s the world coming to?!?! Do we not teach our children to keep their word, their promises? That when they say something, they need to follow up with it?!
You’re a better person than I am, because I would have called her up and told her so.
But that’s just me. I’m sorry this had to happen to you.

I agree. That’s really crappy.

That is definatly something I’m going to strive to teach my children, to keep their word and to treat others well.
I’m over it now….Time to move on
