One of my favourite plays is the Nutcracker, it is fun to watch and I love the music. When I was in grade 5 I was in my elementary school’s nutcracker play where I was a ribbon dancer and I believe that my twin sister was a candy cane.

Two of my cousins who were involved in ballet participated in a nutcracker play that took place at the Chemainus Theatre in Nanimo, BC which is a beautiful and popular theatre on Vancouver Island.

The Moscow Ballet is now having Nutcracker Tryouts for it’s Great Russian Nutcracker U.S. Tour that is coming up this winter. They are looking for children ages seven to young teens who have at least one year of ballet experience. The Moscow Ballet is holding auditions in several states so there is likely to be an accessible location for you take your children to try out.

I you would like to give your family a great night out watching The Nutcracker, you can buy tickets online.  Tickets are being sold right now for many states and will soon be selling for other states. This would make a great gift as this ballet appeals to all ages and is a perfect activity for the Christmas season.

If you know of a Nutcracker fan The Moscow Ballet sells Nutcracker Merchandise online. Including soundtrack CD’s, books, DVD’s and of course Nutcrackers.
