My 11 month old grinds her teeth! The noise is so annoying and I’m afraid it will ruin her teeth. I don’t know if she does it in her sleep because she sleeps in a different room than us and we don’t have a baby monitor but she does it during the day and she laughs when she does it! I guess she thinks the noise is funny.

My worries were put to ease when I read what leading pediatrician, Dr. Sears said about babies grinding their teeth. He says that it is common for babies to this by twelve months and that it wont hurt baby teeth. However damage can occur if children continue to do this when their adult teeth come in. His suggestion was to take the child to the dentist to check for any damage and inquire about teeth guards for night time.

My three year old and my 30 year old still do that. I thought it was just a man thing. I guess not.

I guess you guys know how I feel! Luckily I haven’t noticed Sariah grinding her teeth for the last couple days, maybe it was just temporary.

Madison use to do this all the time too. She outgrew it so I wouldn’t be too worried.
