Can Lipstick Cause Cancer?

I recieved an e-mail warning that many popular brands of lipstick cause lead. I found it hard to believe that lipsticks would be aloud to sell if there is enough lead to cause cancer when by law if there is any chance at all that there might be lead in the paint of an apartment you are renting the landlord needs to state that in the contract.

I did some research and sure enough the “Dr. Nahid Neman from Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto” does not exist. I did find a Dr. Nahid Neman who is a dentist in New York.
According to Health Canada Lead is prohibited in cosmetics.

Also, if lipstick did have lead in it, you would get lead poisoning before you got cancer.

yeah … “Good work Detective Melissa” … hahahah, most of those e-mails are spam and I never really pay attention to them so therefore I wouldn’t have taken the time to look it up. However, it is good to clarify these things so people are more aware of whats true and whats not.

inresponce to your e-mail about lip stick, there can be trace amounts of lead in potterymade in mexico. there is lead in those, so you can have small amounts for example in lip stick, not enough to give you LEAD Poisoning, but long term effects of cancer! who ever wrote that is a moron!
